How do you like your oats? I like mine in many different ways. In the morning I like it as a traditional oatmeal porridge, healthy oatmeal pancake or waffle. Yes, oats make the most delicious breakfast and even lunch or dinner. It can also make meals that can be eaten at any time, including snack time.
Known scientifically as Avena sativa, the super whole-grain food has many health advantages that many don’t even know. Eating oats is one of my biggest non-secrets. I fell in love with the superfood some years ago and began even making my own oat flour. I buy rolled oats and pulverise it to make my very own oat flour. What do I do with it? So many things. I use the flour for pancakes, waffles, biscuits, Nigerian fufu and more. It’s amazing how delicious it tastes and it’s healthier than your traditional flour which is not often as nutritious.
