Season’s Fresh
Buying only products that are in season means you are buying products that are fresh off the farm. They haven’t been refrigerated for days or months before they get to you.

Organic
Many farmers prefer and use organic methods to grow their product. It is true that it sometimes makes them a little more expensive, but it’s no more expensive than that unhealthy burger meal or greasy takeaways that we often indulge in and regret right after chomping them down. Organic farming also better for your priceless possession, – your body, and the environment.
A Taste of Goodness
I’ve met people who say they can’t taste the difference. But I guarantee you, there is a big difference in taste, especially when you buy organic at the farmer’s market. Farmer’s pick their product at the peak of ripeness which makes them very fresh and remain so when it gets to you.

Save More
Better food doesn’t mean more spending. You’d be surprised how much you can save when you shop at the farmer’s market, plus the portions are often more generous.
Support Local Family Farms and Small Businesses
Buying your produce from local farms will no doubt help keep the small men in business.Whilst it’s OK to pop into the supermarket when you need something urgent, and still support the large corporate firms, consider supporting the local farmers who care even more about the food you eat.

Promote Humane Treatment of Livestock
Farmers often raise cheeses, and eggs from animals without use of hormones or antibiotics and feed the animals natural diets, let them graze on green grass and enjoy fresh air. This is a far cry from some larger corporations that do the opposite and don’t spare livestock from cramped and unnatural living conditions.
