These days there are many ways to leave out the shopping trips, you can order your kitchen appliances online and food too, including fresh fruits and vegetables. Although I prefer buying fruits and vegetables from the farmer’s market, most online grocery shops offer a good range of organic fruits and vegetables which are also a good option if you don’t have tome to go out shopping. For your kitchen appliances, Lakeland, John Lewis, Harrods and Currys are great choices.

Just think about it, if you have all you need to slice, dice and process in the kitchen, wouldn’t you just love getting stuck in to whip up something everyday?

Many dietitians will tell you that the best way to guarantee that your food isn’t packed with too much salt, sugar and a whole load of mystery ingredients is to prepare them yourself. Cooking your own meals is undoubtedly the best way to help you form a healthy eating habit, promote eight loss and stay fit.

Here are 5 really useful kitchen gadgets that will make healthy cooking easy

A chef’s knife

If you happen to already have one of these, you’d already know that a good chef’s knife is one of the most important tools in your kitchen. many ingredients need chopping, slicing and dicing, if you have a bad knife we both know that none of those will be fun to do. You want a knife that glides effortlessly. That easy glide is what makes prepping vegetables and other foods that need cutting enjoyable.

A food processor

Your creativity is endless when you have good food processors in your kitchen. I’d recommend a small and a large one. Both will serve well, depending on what you’re making. Any healthy eater knows that a food processor is like a genie, simply throw all your ingredients in it and bam! your food is ready! One of my favourite things to make with my food processor is a creamy and smooth hummus which make great accompaniments for my energy bites. It’s also great for grating vegetables that can be added to soups, sauces, and lots more. The smaller food processor works well for small quick jobs like chopping nuts for a recipe or a yogurt topping. The list of things you can do with this genie is endless!

A dehydrator

This may not a kitchen appliance you have thought of, but it’s amazing and when you get one, you won’t believe you lived without one for so long. It’s perfect for dehydrating fruits in the summer time (prunes, peaches, nectarines, pears, apricots, etc.). You can also use it to dehydrate soaked nuts and seeds, make crackers, wraps, raw pizza crust, cookies, granola and many other healthy treats. It’s a simple but really useful gadget.

A spiralizer

If you watch one of those early morning TVs, you might have seen ads for these. The simple but astonishing appliance gives vegetables a noodle-like shape and texture which makes them more fun to eat! You can add the veggie-noodles salads or used as a lower-carb substitute for pasta. Can you imagine halving your pasta portion, filling the other half with healthy vegetables that will make you just as full or even fuller?

A cast-iron skillet

A cast-iron skillet is a “kitchen workhorse”, at least that’s what I like to call it. You can create almost any dish in a short time with one, and without a single drop of oil or fat. It also retains heat, which reduces cooking time, then there’s that special flavor imparted from cast-iron.
